When shopping for an engagement ring with a diamond, it is important to remember the "4 Cs" of diamonds: Cut, Clarity, Color, and Carat weight.

Cut: The cut of a diamond refers to its symmetry, depth, angles, and other factors. A well-cut diamond will have symmetry and angles that allow it to reflect light well, resulting in sparkle and shine.

Clarity: Clarity refers to the number and size of inclusions (flaws) in a diamond. A flawless diamond is extremely rare and, therefore, very valuable. However, most diamonds will have some inclusions visible under magnification. An experienced jeweller can help you choose a diamond with inclusions that are not visible to the naked eye.

Colour: Diamonds are graded on a scale from D (no hue) to Z (a yellow-hued diamond). Diamonds with little to no hue are rarer and more valuable than those with shades of yellow or brown.

Carat weight: Carat weight is how a diamond is measured and is an important consideration when shopping for a diamond ring. Remember that carat weight is not the same as size; two diamonds of different shapes can have the same carat weight but appear different in size when viewed from above.
